GATE’s Holiday Camps provide focused short-term programmes that help students strengthen core skills and prepare for key competitions.

Covering Math Olympiads (AMC, NMOS, SMOPS) and Creative Writing Camps (Commonwealth Essay Competition, SOTA), each programme offers targeted practice and strategies to help your child build confidence and improve performance.

Prepares children for the Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC), the world’s largest school-based math competition held internationally. The camp focuses on developing problem-solving skills, logical reasoning, and creative thinking through practice of multiple-choice and short-answer questions. Students will engage with a range of topics aligned to their level, including number theory, geometry, algebra, and combinatorics, while learning strategies to approach unfamiliar and challenging problems effectively. This preparation aims to boost confidence and performance in the AMC’s unique testing format.

  • AMC Intermediate Camp: 9-10 y.o.
  • AMC Advanced Camp: 11-12 y.o.

Prepares children for the NMOS Competition (Math competition organised by NUS High School) preliminary round by developing effective problem-solving strategies. The camp emphasizes practising high-frequency and challenging past year question patterns, with a special focus on common difficult concept topics to build confidence and improve accuracy.

  • The NMOS Round 1 Part 1 camp will cover: fractions, ratios, and percentages; averages; speed: and heuristics.
  • The NMOS Round 1 Part 2 camp will cover: area and perimeter; angles; number theory; and counting.

Prepares students for the SMOPS Competition (Math competition organised by Hwa Chong Institution) through targeted practice of key topics and problem-solving techniques. The camp covers essential areas including combinatorics, elementary number theory, geometry, algebra, and fractions, with a focus on developing critical thinking skills and tackling challenging competition-style questions.

Students will develop essential skills to communicate ideas and information clearly and effectively through varied writing styles beyond the typical PSLE format. They will learn to research, analyse, and organise their thoughts logically while crafting engaging and creative pieces. The programme also provides the opportunity to write an essay for The Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition, helping to build a diverse writing portfolio for Direct School Admission (DSA).

Students will develop key skills to craft engaging short stories with compelling plots and unexpected twists, all within a limited word count. They will learn how to create vivid characters, build tension, and tell a complete story effectively and creatively. This programme prepares students to write confidently for the SOTA Primary 6 Creative Writing Competition, helping to build a strong portfolio for Direct School Admission (DSA).
